Can our social care system cope with an ageing population

The future of social care for older people was discussed at the Guardian's second Ageing Population Quarterly event. Care minister Norman Lamb said the current system was "completely inadequate" to cope with our ageing demographic, and professionals across a range of sectors considered whether we need to create a more modern, sustainable system.
