Birnbeck House - Care Home Learning Disabilities

Birnbeck House is a care home located in Weston-super-Mare, accommodating up to 13 adults with complex learning disabilities. It features comfortable rooms, some with sea views, and offers high-quality residential care. The care provided is personalized, focusing on individual preferences and needs. Residents often engage in various activities within the home, such as art sessions, and enjoy outings to local attractions like the beach, bowling alleys, and parks.

The staff is dedicated and friendly, assisting residents with personal care and daily activities. They have established transportation links, including wheelchair-accessible minibuses, to facilitate trips to activities and appointments. Currently, the residents have a range of conditions, including different learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and autism, among others. While some areas of the home are wheelchair-accessible, full access is limited on the upper floors.

Birnbeck House also manages other services for individuals with less complex needs, such as Quantock House, which caters to six adults, and Bennett Court in Nailsea, providing supported living for up to 12 disabled adults. The aim is to support residents in living fulfilling lives. The home encourages community involvement and offers opportunities for fundraising and volunteer work to support people with disabilities.
